Okay I love Melanie Martinez so much, I’ve been a fan of her for 4 years. But tbh this movie makes no sense, she was more focused on the music and aesthetic of the movie than the actual plot. Like if the main characters have the black eyes that give them the power to do anything, then why not have everyone escape from the school at the very beginning of the movie? Like is there limits to their powers? What was that pink liquid coming from the bus at the very beginning of the movie? What is the timeline in this movie? Who is that fairy lady? Where was crybaby in that scene after strawberry shortcake when she was saying she doesn’t want to be there anymore? How are the people with the black eyes immortal? What happened to Kelly at the end? What tf was that fairy’s goal? I don’t know, it took 4 years to create this movie and there is barely a plot. I know that in multiple interviews she confirmed that there will in fact be another movie since there is a cliffhanger, but this was a very weak first movie. It didn’t make me want more of the movie, it just left me very confused lmao.
